On Saturday October 18, 2014, about 100,000 people congregated in Piazza Duomo in Milan to protest the invasion of Italy and against the immigrant-rescue operation “Mare Nostrum”. The event was organized by Lega Nord and hosted by its leader, Matteo Salvini. There were some impressive speakers from many regions of Italy who described how much indigenous Italians are suffering, whereas the newcomers are treated so much better and funded so much more lavishly. There was much anger in their speeches. The speaker in the clip below is Souad Sbai, an Italian politician of Moroccan origin, a journalist, a women’s rights advocate, and a one-time member of the Popolo della Libertà
(People of Liberty) party.
